Three weeks ago (during the long Undas Weekend), I went to Cebu for a short vacation. It was my first time in Cebu. The city is highly urbanized, pretty much like Manila. We were only able to visit some tourist spots there because of our short stay. My reason for the trip however was not really to visit the city but the experience to travel Ala Titanic style. :)

To and from Cebu, we boarded the MV Princess of the Stars, the biggest ship in the country. The travel time is at least 20 hours so at first I thought that the trip will bore me, but it didn’t. On board the ship, there are establishments such as gym, spa, theater and videoke bar so there were things to do.

But the one thing I enjoyed most aboard the ship was going outside and sightseeing. The skies were clear and the seas were calm during the trip. The atmosphere was peaceful and relaxing. A good break from the stressful life in the city. Perfect for my mandatory alone time.

Travelling by sea makes me appreciate nature and think about God’s greatness. It makes me realize that I’m insignificant in this world; just a grain of sand in His beach called the Universe. It humbles me that even though I’m insignificant, He gave me (and each one of us) the responsibility to make this world a better place. (Don’t get me wrong. I’m not religious, I’m more of a spiritual person.)

I love sailing and I would like to do this again. I want to go on a cruise with my future significant other. I want to buy a yacht so that I can sail whenever I want to. Sigh… Please bear with my daydreaming. :)
