Champ for Dinner (with LT on the side)
Weblogs October 10th, 2006Oct. 11 [2:28am]: I can’t sleep. I’m still kind of star-struck. I might as well write about it. Maybe after finishing this I might feel sleepy. ![]()
[Earlier this evening]
6:00 pm
I was busy doing my work when my brother called me at the office. He told me that my aunt just arrived from Hong Kong. She stopped by at our home to see my brother who arrived a week ago from Lebanon. She told him that she will be meeting a friend in Greenhills for dinner. This friend of hers is an uncle of Champ, the vocalist of the band Hale. That afternoon, Champ was with his uncle so my aunt invited us if we would like to meet him. I was still under time at the office but I can’t let that opportunity to meet him pass so I agreed.
8:30pm
We we’re 30 mins late and it’s a bit embarrassing. We got a little lost on our way to Greenhills. We didn’t take EDSA because of the traffic. We all met at the Little Asia restaurant in Promenade: Champ, his uncle, my aunt with the 3 sabits (Me, my brother and sister), another friend with her son and daughter.
Champ is kind and down to earth. While having dinner I somewhat interviewed him. Being the music freak that I am, I asked him details about his band; how it was formed, how long they have been together, recording albums, etc. I also asked him about the band’s songwriting. It was cool to ask these questions to a famous musician. I also had my CD autographed. What a great evening.
9:30pm
Lorna Tolentino is also a friend of Champ’s uncle. While we were having dinner, she stopped by to say hello. We had our pictures taken with her.
