Quotes of the Day

Crumbs of Wisdom No Comments »

“Our attitudes control our lives. Attitudes are a secret power
working twenty-four hours a day, for good or bad. It is of paramount
importance that we know how to harness and control this great force.”
[Tom Blandi]

“If you don’t go after what you want, you’ll never have it. If you
don’t ask, the answer is always no. If you don’t step forward, you’re
always in the same place.”
[Nora Roberts]

On Solitude

Crumbs of Wisdom 1 Comment »

Quoted from Wilson Lee Flores’s article on The Philippine Star last Jan 7, 2007 titled ‘The Indescribable Joy of Solitude’:

“Solitude enhances our sense of focus, self-discipline, self-analysis and allows us priceless time for introspection.”

“There is also something about solitude that humbles our ego, calms our restless spirit and somehow brings us closer to God.”

“Whether at home or geographically and culturally far away as I am, we can all seek our own level of solitude, which is good for our physical, intellectual, emotional and spiritual well-being.”

“I believe deep thinking, replenishing our physical energies, creativity, dreaming (or daydreaming) and spirituality (not religiosity) are at their fullest during solitude.”

==============================
Personally, I enjoy solitude because it enables me think clearly, relax and reflect on things. So don’t be surprised if ever I become an old bachelor, hermit or monk someday. ;)

MRT Observations

Weblogs No Comments »

I don’t take the MRT regularly. While taking the MRT on the way to our client in Ortigas, I observed some things:

1. The MRT Radio plays good music. In the mornings that I took the MRT, they were playing coffee shop type of music and its relaxing especially when you’re on your way to work.
2. Many women don’t take advantage of the women / senior / disabled 1st coach. If they don’t have male companions and are still waiting for the train to arrive, why not walk a little bit to the area where 1st coach stops? It’s a privilege and I say why not use it?
3. Some of the guards in MRT use drumsticks to search the bags of the passengers. For me that’s a mortal sin! That’s disrespecting the craft of drumming! Hehehe… just kidding ;)

Nothing so conclusively proves a man’s ability to lead others as what he does from day to day to lead himself.
